A golf course that could host a presidential debate has been approved for use in the White House
A golf resort in Florida could host the first presidential debate between Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and Republican nominee Donald Trump.
The resort, The Grandview, is located on a large parcel of land owned by The Trump Organization, which was founded by Donald Trump and his father Fred Trump.
Sanders and Trump had previously held a debate there during the 2016 campaign, which had the event moved to the Republican National Convention.
The debate was moved to Florida after the Orlando terrorist attack in June.
The Trump organization had initially said the debate was still possible, but then changed course and moved the event to Orlando.
The GrandView golf course has been developed by the Trump Organization since 2009.
The site, located just west of the Beltway, sits on about 600 acres that was formerly part of the former US Air Force Base.
The property is owned by the Florida Department of Transportation.
The golf course’s design includes a retractable roof, two pavilions, two water features and a large pool, among other amenities.
A private event, the White Houses golf retreat, was also built on the property, but that was later sold.
The design of the Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., features a retracting roof, water feature, and a pool.
A former Trump hotel in Washington D.D. was built on top of the property.
It has a retracted roof, a water feature and a parking lot, among others amenities.
Trump, who was a partner at the Trump family’s real estate development company, the Trump Organisation, has held numerous rallies at the resort in recent months.
The former presidential candidate was criticized during the election cycle for his remarks about immigrants, Muslims and Mexicans, which were widely criticized.
A few days before the election, a tweet from a Trump campaign employee claiming that there would be “a big announcement tomorrow,” which was later deleted, appeared on a Twitter account used by the Twitter account of former President Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly.
The tweet came the same day that Trump released a statement calling on the US Department of Justice to “release all information about our investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server.”
He also made headlines during the campaign by saying that “if the FBI wants to prosecute Hillary Clinton, they can go right ahead.”
The Trump campaign later said the statement was an error.
Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski called it a “mistake.”
“That was not a good day for the Trump campaign,” Lewandowski said.
“We didn’t know exactly what was going to happen.”
Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, whose father is also a member of the Republican Party, has also called for a debate on the resort.
“The next president will have to choose between Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton,” Ivanka Trump said in a tweet Sunday.
“I believe a fair and thorough investigation into these allegations is required to make sure no crimes were committed.
The only way this debate can happen is if the Trump team will work together to get the truth out.”
The announcement that the resort would host the presidential debate came as Trump’s presidential campaign continues to take heat for its handling of the investigation into Clinton’s emails.
“There’s a big difference between an investigation and a campaign,” Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller told reporters Monday.
“It’s the Clinton campaign, not the Trump administration that is using an investigation to advance their own political agenda.”
Trump has repeatedly insisted that he was not involved in any decision to move the debate.
“This was never about politics, this was never political.
It was about the American people,” he said in an interview with Fox News Sunday.
The announcement was made Friday.
The next presidential debate will take place on Feb. 9.
It will be held at a new venue in Los Angeles.
The venue is expected to open later this year, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The location of the next presidential debates is still being determined.
A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
