Which of the World Golf Championships players will win the title of ‘World’s Best’ on Monday?
The captains of the golf world are being asked by fans to answer whether they will take home the $1 million jackpot on Monday when the PGA Championship begins in St. Petersburg.
The winner will receive $50,000.
The PGA of America, the tournament’s governing body, announced the prize on its Facebook page.
The announcement comes less than two weeks before the PGC Tour’s final round of qualifying begins.
The Masters Championship, on the other hand, will start with its final round.
The prize, according to PGA officials, will be distributed through the company’s Facebook page by Monday.
It was announced last week that Phil Mickelson would win the final round after winning the title at the Presidents Cup last week.
Mickelsey was joined in his final round by fellow players including Bubba Watson, Nick Faldo and Jason Day.
Watson finished fifth and Day, a champion of the PSC, tied for 10th at the final, winning with a 71-yard par three.
The $1.9 billion payout will be split between three winners, who will receive between $5 million and $7 million.
A fourth winner will be selected in a separate round on Monday.
The winners of the five-day event will each receive $250,000 cash and the remaining $150,000 will be divided among the winners of golf tournaments in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Argentina.
It is the third consecutive year that the PGTX Tour has won the prize.
It has previously won the $10 million PGA Tour’s World Golf Championship in 2005, and the $20 million PGC World Golf Tournament in 2011.
Mickels father, Tony Mickelsson, won the championship in 2014.
Mickells PGA debut came in 2015 at the Masters.
